This is supposed to chill for a few hours, but it should be ok to eat it right away:)
PISTACHIO FLUFF
1 small package INSTANT pistachio pudding
1 9-oz. carton Cool Whip, thawed
1 8-oz. can crushed pineapple
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. miniature marshmellows
Combine all ingredients together until mixed well. Chill several hours ......
You could serve this in little Dixie cups with plastic spoons. It should stretch to about 12-15 people, but you might need to double it if you have alot more peopleI need a fast and easy recipes for a school project (for kids)?
Here's a fun one - you can make a homemade guacamole in front of the class. Vegetables will hold up to not being refrigerated for a day, all you need is a cutting board and a knife. Depending on how much time you need to fill with your speech, you can either chop the onions, tomatoes and garlic and/or measure out your spices ahead of time or do it in front of the class. Leave the avocado whole though or it will turn brown. Also there is a trick to cutting avocados that would make for a good instruction in a speech. This page has a very thorough explanation and visuals if you haven't even done this yourself: http://www.elise.com/recipes/archives/001737how_to_cut_and_peel_an_avocado.php. Here is a guacamole recipe too: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Easy-Guacamole/Detail.aspx. Have fun!
Hi -
You may want to try these...I believe you can do these without any of the modern conveniences you mentioned...
Peanut Butter Graham Cookies (no bake)
Makes about 5 dozen cookies
2 cups peanut butter, creamy or chunky
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 corn syrup, dark or light
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted (optional - for the drizzle)
Colored sprinkles (optional)
In a large bowl, combine peanut butter, graham cracker crumbs, confectioners' sugar, and corn syrup. Mix until smooth. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets. Drizzle melted chocolate over balls or roll in colored sprinkles. Store covered in refrigerator.
If you have to show the class how to make something and say what you are doing I would suggest you take the makings of a sandwich to school.
A couple of slices of bread, a small amount of butter, some drained and mashed sardines, a little salt a wedge of vinegar.
When you have finished you can show them how to eat it
Me Cookies
Have plain sugar cookies already made, icing in a can (brown and white), coconut, raisins or chocolate chips, string red licorice, bigger sprinkles, red hots, etc.
Talking to the kids I would say, We are going to make Me Cookies today. First we put on the icing than we can add different things for your hair, eyes, nose, mouth. You can be exact or you can be creative but something on it must look like you.
Or you could make ants on a log. Celery with peanut butter inside and raisins or chocolate chips on top for the ants. (Small kids shouldn't eat raisins)
No Bake Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies
Yield: 10 servings
1 cup oatmeal
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1/4-1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
2 1/2 Tbsp pumpkin puree
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
a pinch of salt
1/4 cup raisins
2 Tbsp powdered sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Combine everything (except for the cinnamon and Powdered sugar) in a large bowl, starting with the oatmeal and ending with the pumpkin.
Roll dough into 3/4 inch balls.
Combine powdered sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl, and then roll the balls of cookie dough in the sugar.

1/2 cup miniature marshmallows
3/4 cup plain fat free yogurt
4 teaspoons sugar substiute

In small bowl, combine yogurt, sugar substitute and coconut extract. Add to orange mixture. Mix gently to combine. Cover and chill at least 2 hours.
icecream
get two baggies one much bigger than the other, fill the big one with salt and ice, fill the smaller one with sugar milk and anything else you want to add, like chocolate chips. seal and then seal it in the bigger bag and shake and knead the bag around for a few minutes until you have icecream
this is something you can get your whole class involved in. just bring the ice in a cooler for school
make a fruit kabob. get wooden skewers, pre cut fruit, halve strawberrie, pineapple chunks, canataloupe squares 1'; cubes, grape halves (large grapes), watermelon chunks and skewer the fruit with alternate pieces. Get large lettuce leaves and place on plate, put skewers on top of lettuce for presentation. you could drizzle with honey or poppy seed dressing on the side to dip the fruit in.
Just adding that FoxyRose has a good idea. You could set it up like a Taco bar. The kids could make their own kabobs. You would have everything cut up a head of time and it would keep in a cooler (so you don't need to worry about a refrigerator). It's a good, simple recipe for the kids to do.
fried eggs,or microwaved baked beans,or corn flakes.
