Nothing fancy please. Something that has your basic staples that you would have in your fridge...I need some fast and easy recipes that include ground beef...?
There's something I've made and it's quick, easy, and pretty inexpensive. It's called a Taco Ring.
The ingredients may vary depending on how much you want to make, but for one ring you need about 1 pound of ground beef, a can of refried beans (I think it's 14 or 15 ounces), a half cup of chopped onion (whatever onion you like, and more or less onion to fit your taste) a cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or monterey jack tastes best) and two packages of crescent rolls.
First you cook the ground beef, and drain out the fat. Mix in the refried beans, cheese and onion. Lay out one package of crescent rolls in a ring, and then the other so it's filled in (it sort of looks like a sun with pointed rays). Spread the ground beef mixture around the crescent roll ring and then fold the edges of the crescent rolls over the meat. Bake it in the oven at 350潞F for 15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are browned.
You can serve it with sour cream, salsa, or whatever other topping you desire, but it's also good just like that! Don't forget to spray whatever pan you use with cooking spray so nothing sticks!I need some fast and easy recipes that include ground beef...?
Casserole always works- Take a box of Mac n Cheese, and put ground up Hamburger in it. you can also add diced tomatos or mushrooms to add some color and veggies.
Sloppy Joe!
That's always fast - easy and GOOD! Messy though.
You can go to www.familycircle.com and they have a free recipe center where you can search recipes by ingredient. They have TONS of recipes for everything under the sun...
Search through there... you're bound to find something you like.
Good luck!
Easy Shepherd's Pie Recipe
Shepherd's Pie is an English dish, traditionally made with lamb or mutton. Americans typically make Shepherd's Pie with beef. The English (and Australians and New Zealanders) call the beef dish a ';cottage pie';. Naming conventions aside, Shepherd's Pie is essentially a casserole, lined with cooked meat and vegetables, topped with mashed potatoes, and baked.
Here is a basic recipe for a simple ground beef Shepherd's Pie. The original recipe comes from my friend Frances Hochschild and her mother (thanks Frannie!). We dressed it up a bit with some veggies and Worcestershire sauce.
1 1/2 lbs ground round beef
1 onion chopped
1-2 cups vegetables - chopped carrots, corn, peas
1 1/2 - 2 lbs potatoes (3 big ones)
8 tablespoons butter (1 stick)
1/2 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt, pepper, other seasonings of choice
1 Peel and quarter potatoes, boil in salted water until tender (about 20 minutes).
2 While the potatoes are cooking, melt 4 Tablespoons butter (1/2 a stick) in large frying pan.
3 Saut茅 onions in butter until tender over medium heat (10 mins). If you are adding vegetables, add them according to cooking time. Put any carrots in with the onions. Add corn or peas either at the end of the cooking of the onions, or after the meat has initially cooked.
4 Add ground beef and saut茅 until no longer pink. Add salt and pepper. Add worcesterchire sauce. Add half a cup of beef broth and cook, uncovered, over low heat for 10 minutes, adding more beef broth as necessary to keep moist.
5 Mash potatoes in bowl with remainder of butter, season to taste.
6 Place beef and onions in baking dish. Distribute mashed potatoes on top. Rough up with a fork so that there are peaks that will brown nicely. You can use the fork to make some designs in the potatoes as well.
7 Cook in 400 degree oven until bubbling and brown (about 30 minutes). Broil for last few minutes if necessary to brown.
